Chaffle, you say?
I try to eat healthy. I don’t really follow any restrictive diet, but I try to make good choices when I can. I’ve taken some time to learn about various approaches to food, like keto. My hat is off to those who can maintain that lifestyle, it’s just not for me. But…BUT I came across a keto trick that I am so into.
I give you, the Chaffle!
What is a chaffle? It’s basically a cheese waffle. I know. It sounds a little gross, but it’s so good. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert - there’s a chaffle for it.
First step is getting a baby dash waffle maker, I got this copper one.
Next, mix 1/3 c cheese (I like mozzarella as the base) and 1 egg. If you want something a little “cakier” you can add 1 tbs of almond flour. But I typically don’t need it Then you can add any flavors: seasoning blends, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, hot sauce - you name it!
Spoon 1/2 the mixture into the pre-heated baby dash, and 3-4 minutes later, you’ve got a chaffle!
Then you get to play with variations of chaffles and toppings!
Some of my favorite sweet ones are:
Cinnamon Roll
Lemon vanilla
Orange poppy seed
And I made this awesome savory chaffle: buffalo sauce chaffle topped with blue cheese chicken salad!
What’s your favorite chaffle flavor?
Muchly,
Katy
